Necrosknight vs Rosan Lancer: The Competition Build
My first Gunpla competition project is underway. I’m bringing together a Necrosknight and Rosan Lancer in a single diorama, with the goal of creating a scene that tells a story rather than simply displaying two models. From building and painting the individual kits to adding weathering, battle damage and the final diorama details, this project follows the journey of bringing the whole scene together for competition.
With both models forming part of the same scene, I’ve had to think beyond painting individual kits and start considering how everything works together. The challenge is to make the Necrosknight and Rosan Lancer feel like they belong in the same battle, while using the base, damage and weathering to bring the story to life. This is a chance to experiment, learn from the process, and hopefully create something that stands out when the competition is finally judged.
After building the Rosan Lancer and experimenting with the composition, I've completely changed the story I want the finished piece to tell. With the Lancer's spear through the Necrosknight and the scythe caught in the Lancer's shield, both warriors are locked in a brutal final exchange. Now it's time to bring the scene to life with paint, battle damage — and possibly a very villainous red cape.
